A frequent perennial of bogs and wet flatwoods mostly on the north and central peninsula south to Lake Okeechobee and into Lee County. Also found in the coastal palin of Alabama, Geogia and South Carolina.
Whitetop aster typically has one to four branching stems to 1m (~3 ft.) tall. Both stems and leaves are pubescent and glandular. The alernate leaves are elliptic with distinct veins and entire, or nearly entire margins. The drooping ray florets are white with yellowish to reddish disks. Floral bracts are whitish and have green midribs.
