An occasional wildflower of lawns, roadsides and other disturbed sites throughout much of Florida. This tropical American native is also found across the southern states from South Carolina into Arizona.
This is a very small plant with opposite, deltoid to lanceolate leaves, somewhat toothed and 1-3cm (3/8 to 1-3/16 in.) long. Flowers have from 3 to 8 yellow ray petals 2-5mm (up to 3/16 in.) long. There are 10 to 20 disk florets.


Calyptocarpus vialis is a member of the Asteraceae - Aster family.
