Not native to Florida
Common to disturbed sites throughout most of the peninsula and scattered panhandle counties. Native to Asia, this invasive is now found from Texas, throughout the southeast, and north into Pennsylvania, plus Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Yellow flowers of 10-25 ray florets, upper stem glabrous, lower stem minutely pubescent, with few small cauline leaves. Basal leaves petiolate, oblanceolate, pinnately lobed, up to 5 cm ( 2 in.) wide and 3-15 cm (1-1/4 - 6 in) long.
Youngia japonica is a member of the Asteraceae - Aster family.
