Not native to Florida
Native to moist meadows and stream banks in Japan and eastern Asia. Occasionally found in gardens and landscapes in Florida.
The clump-forming plants typically grow to about 6dm (2 ft.) tall. The distinctive long-stalked leaves are round with a deep cleft and may grow to 30cm (12 in.) across. The daisy-like flowers have yellow rays and brownish-yellow disks.
Farfugium japonicum is a member of the Asteraceae - Aster family.
