A frequent herb of marshes, wet flatwoods and seepage slopes in much of Florida. Ranges throughout much of the southeastern coastal plain from North Carolina into Texas.
A round-stemmed plant growing from 0.5-3m (20 in to almost 10 ft.) tall. Both basal and cauline leaves are usually entire and may be ovate or narrowly lanceolate to lance-linear.
