Eastern tiger swallowtails can be found throughout Florida, more prevalent in the northern part of the state.The range of eastern tiger swallowtails extends throughout the eastern United States west into the Great Pains and north into Ontario, Canada.
These are large yellow butterflies with black margins and black "tiger" stripes on the wings. Females are large and appear in one of two forms. One is yellow and black similar to the males and the other is a dark form similar to some of the other swallowtails.
Unlike the Florida subspecies, Eastern tiger swallowtails utilize a variety of host plants.
