Tiger swallowtails are found throughout Florida with Eastern tiger swallowtails mostly in the northern parts of the state, and Florida tiger swallowtails mainly limited to the peninsula.
Appearance is similar to the Eastern tiger swallowtail, but sometimes larger. This subspecies reportedly does not have a dark female form.
Papilio glaucus maynardi is a host specialist, with larvae feeding only on sweetbay Magnolia virginiana).
