Calopogon pallidus is the second most common species of the genus, occurring throughout much of Florida and the coastal plains from Louisiana to Virginia. The typically pale pink flowers of each plant open in slow succession with one to four open at at time. Flower color can vary from white to a deep magenta. The narrow grasslike leaves are less than half the height of the plant and are usually absent at flowering time.
