Gum Spring & Slough
Gum Spring is the headwaters of Gum Slough which is a wild natural waterway that flows into the Withlacoochee River in central Florida. I visited the spring in 2019 as part of a Florida Native Plant Society conference kayak field trip led by Lars Anderson of Adventure Outpost in High Springs. The main image is looking across the spring and downstream below a blue sky with a few clouds which are reflected in the spring.
One of the plants seen along the paddle was cardinalflower (Lobelia cardinalis).
