A rare blue-eyed grass in Florida being found in fields and grassy flatwoods only in Duval and Santa Rosa Counties. More frequent throughout much of the eastern United States, west into Texas and north into Ontario.
The flowers are congested at the tip of the scape with a pair of leaf-like spathes extending beyond the inflorescence.
Sisyrinchium albidum is a member of the Iridaceae - Iris family.
