This ornamental subshrub has escaped cultivation in a few Florida Counties as well as in Alabama. Native to the South American countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Paraguay.
The alternate leaves are petioled, deltoid-ovate and toothed. The inflorescence is in the form of a red spike.
Acalypha herzogiana is a member of the Euphorbiaceae - Spurge family.
