Not native to Florida
A popular landscape plant of the Florida peninsula that has escaped cultivation into disturbed sites, hammocks and pinelands in scattered locations around the state. Also found in Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and California. Native to the West Indies and some botanists have postulated that it was also native to south Florida.
Duranta erecta is a member of the Verbenaceae - Verbena family.
