A common sedge throughout much of Florida. Found in dry and wet flatwoods, bogs and swamps. The range extends through mush of the easter United States west into Texas to Nebraska, north to Minnesota to New York and Massachusetts. Scleria triglomerata also occurs in Ontario.
Culms range from 40-100cm tall, glabrous and somewhat rough (scabrous) towards the tip. The bracts are 3-11cm long, extending past the inflorescence. Leaves are shorter than the culms, linear, ribbed, and 3-9mm wide.
Scleria triglomerata is a member of the Cyperaceae - Sedge family.
