Rusty Millipede
Not native to Florida
Commonly found in leaf litter, under decaying logs, under the bark of decaying logs and in compost throughout the Florida peninsula. Less common in north Florida and the panhandle. Native to Thailand and Myanmar, these millipedes have spread throughout southeast Asia from India to Indonesia and also many islands in the Caribbean.
One of the round-backed millipedes, Trigoniulus corallinus can vary in color but is typically some shade of red. Length is from 6-10cm (2-1/2 to 4-1/2 in.).
Trigoniulus corallinus is a member of the Trigoniulidae - family.
