Euchlaena amoenaria
Deep Yellow Euchlaena Moth
Florida native
A moth of much of the eastern United States, including Florida, ranging west into Texas and Oklahoma, not reaching as far north as the Great Lakes. Appears to be most populous in the Southern Appalachians, the Ohio River Valley and the mid-Atlantic coastal plain.
Wings are straw-colored to orangish-yellow close to the body with a reddish-brown to blackish pm line separating a darker grayish-brown to rusty-brown area beyond. A distinctive pale yellow apical patch extends to the wingtips. The wingspan varies from 3cm to 4.9cm (1-3/16 to 1-15/16 in.).
