Found throughout Florida, frequently near the coast and on barrier islands. Ranges throughout the southeastern states, particularly the coastal plain, but as far west as Kansas to Texas and as far north as Kentucky. Also south into Mexico, Central ans South America and the Caribbean.
A large moth with a wingspan of 5-6cm (2 to 2-1/3 in.). Mostly dark shades of brown with nearly straight median line bending just above the small reniform spot.
Enyo lugubris is a member of the Sphingidae - Sphinx moths family.
