Can be seen throughout Florida and mostly in the eastern United States.
Mostly chocolate brown with two distinctive yellow bands across the abdomen. Also can have a dark orange median band on the hindwing.
Adults fly April through July in most of the range. 2 broods yearly in the south with flight both several months earlier and later in Florida, Louisiana and Texas.
Host plants are Ampelopsis (peppervine), Vitis (grape) and Capsicum annuum (cayanne pepper).

Amphion floridensis is a member of the Sphingidae - Sphinx moths family.
