A spiderlily of streams, riverbanks and floodplain forests mainly in northeast Florida with the range extending into Volusia, Levy and Leon Counties. Also found in south Georgia.
The low arching leaves are up to 52cm (20-1/2 in.) long and are channeled towards the tip. The scape is up to 40cm (16 in.) tall with two narrowly lanceolate bracts enclosing the buds. Usually each scape will have two or three flowers that bloom sequentially. The perianth tube is green and typically from 5-9cm (2 to 3-1/2 in.) long. The six white tepals are tinged green on the keel and measure 7-10cm (2-3/4 to 4 in.) long and 4-6mm (1/6 to 1/4 in.) wide. The white corolla has a small green eye and is rotate at anthesis with the margin of the fused portion between the filaments ragged. The ovary and the base of the style are green with the style fading to white towards the tip.
