A plant of freshwater marshes, swamps and wet ditches throughout much of peninsular Florida and a few counties in the panhandle. Also ranges through the southeastern coastal states from Texas to South Carolina.
The petals of this plant are reduced and reflexed along the stem. The three showy parts appearing as petals are actually stamens with anthers along the margins.
Canna flaccida is a member of the Cannaceae - Canna family.
