A common vine of floodplain forests, sandhills, flatwoods and disturbed sites throughout Florida and the southeastern United States. The range of creeping cucumber extends west to Texas through Kansas, then east to Indiana, northeast to Pennsylvania, plus Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Mature berry small, cucumberlike and blackish.
