The range of Notolomus basalis includes Florida, Alabama and South Carolina. It is most often seen on saw palmetto, cabbage palm, oleander and passionflower. The weevil in these photographs was seen on the flowers of Viburnum obovatum. Only a few millimeters long, it was in pine flatwoods near the St. Johns River in Volusia County.
Needle palm - Rhapidophyllum hystrix is a host plant for the delelomine flower weevil.
