Florida native
A common grass of wet flatwoods, bogs and pond margins in much of the peninsula and west into Leon County. ALso found in Georgia and the Carolinas.
The usually arching culms are slender and often branching. The leaves are up to 50cm (~20 in.) long, 6mm (~1/4 in.) wide and have a keel. The sheaths are glabrous and smooth. Ligules have cilia that are up to 1.5mm (~1/16 in.) long.
