Not native to Florida
An occasional plant of disturbed sites in the central peninsula into north Florida and the panhandle. Native to africa, also introduced in the southeastern coastal states from Louisiana into North Carolina.
An erect branching annual or short-lived perennial growing up to 2.5m (~8 ft.) tall. Trifoliate leaves with narrowly linear to linear-lanceolate leaflets with appressed hairs on the underside. The yellow flowers appear in a long loose raceme. Petals may be streaked with maroon lines. Fruit is a broadly cylindric pod with appressed hairs.
