These evergreen shrubs or small trees of forests, scrublands and disturbed sites are native to Cuba.
Comocladia platyphylla (A.Rich. ex Griseb.) grows up to 10m (33 ft.) tall. The flowers are small with five white or yellow petals and a yellow center.
Also called Broad-leaved Comocladia, the genus is known as the maidenplums.
