Peninsula Cooter - Pseudemys peninsularis
Location - Snake Creek near Hontoon Island & Blue Springs State Parks
Habitat - Freshwater streams, rivers and lakes
Range - Most of the Florida peninsula.
Description - Peninsula cooters can be as long as 15 inches. Both the shell and body are dark with yellow lines. The underside edge of the shell has solid dark spots and the plastron is yellow with no markings.
