Florida native
An occasional perennial herb of dry hammocks and disturbed sites from the northern peninsula to the central panhandle. The range extends throughout the eastern United States west into New Mexico and Colorado and excluding New England beyond New York and Connecticut.
Like Glandularia maritima, G. canadensis has a five-lobed caylx that is glandular. The opposite leaves are lobed or dissected, strigose. The blades are trianglular-ovate and are not at all succulent. The five-lobed pink or purple flowers have 5 stamens
