An occasional herbaceous plant found in the panhandle and north Florida into Nassau to Levy Counties. The range includes the southeastern United States west into Texas to Kansas, north into Illinois to Connecticut.
This plant grows 10-40.6cm (4-16 in.) tall with ridged stems that may be covered with fine hairs. Leaves are opposite and clasping the stem, oblong or lanceolate, 7.6cm (3 in.) long and 2.5cm (1 in.) wide. Leaves have a prominent central vein, coarsely toothed near the base and the remainder fringed with fine hairs. The small white flowers appear in flat-topped clusters of four to 12 flowers surrounded by triangular green bracts.


Valerianella radiata is a member of the Caprifoliaceae - Honeysuckle family.
