A small milkweed frequently found in flatwoods and scrub in much of Florida. The range includes coastal regions of Georgia and the Carolinas.
This perennial with milky sap has slender hairy stems that can grow to 61cm (2 ft.) tall but usually much shorter. Asclepias pedicellata is one of the milkweeds with corolla lobes that are erect at anthesis (flowering period). Leaves are opposite, sessile, narrowly elliptic to linear and reduced downward.
