Found in hammocks of the central and southern Florida peninsula. Usually epiphytic or growing on rocks. Range also includes Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, northern South America and the Galapagos Islands.
The leaves of long strap fern are typically 4.5-8cm wide with lateral veins that are obvious.


Campyloneurum phyllitidis is a member of the Polypodiaceae - Polypody family.
