Found in most counties of Florida where it may bloom all year, climbing hempvine ranges from Texas to Michigan and most states eastward.
A climbing vine with mostly glabrous stems. The leaves are opposite, petiolate and mostly arrowhead-shaped. The white to pinkish flowers are rayless and appear in dense panicles on glabrous or pubescent peduncles. Corollas are mostly 3.5-6mm long. The fruit are black achenes with a pappus of white to purplish bristles. The total length with the pappus is about 5mm and the achenes themselves are 1.2-2.3mm long.
