Native to the tropical Old World, these spiders can now be found across the southern United States from North Carolina into California. Menemerus bivittatus are most frequently seen on the outside walls of buildings.
Gray wall jumpers males are typically up to 9mm (~5/16 in.) long with females slightly larger reaching 10mm (~3/8 in.) in length. Males have black bands on top of each side of the carapace that meet at the rear to form a single back band down the center of the abdomen. In females the blank bands remain separate extending along the sides of the abdomen.
Menemerus bivittatus is a member of the Salticidae - Jumping spiders family.
