Found most often in the coastal counties of the Florida peninsula. Native to Australia and the nearby region of southern Asia, Coelophora inaequalis was introduced to Hawaii and Florida to control the yellow sugarcane aphid (Sipha flava).
The black markings on the elytra of this species of lady beetles is highly variable between individuals.


Coelophora inaequalis is a member of the Coccinellidae - Ladybugs, Ladybirds, Lady Beetles family.
