This small moth can be found in Florida and the eastern US north to Maine and west into Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
Pink star moths have distinctive yellow forewings outlined by a pink band that is wider at the outer margin(wingtips). Hindwings are dull yellow or pale brown with a faint pink outer border. The wingspan is 2.4-3cm (~1 to 1-3/16 in.).
Derrima stellata is a member of the Noctuidae - Owlet Moths family.
