Double-lined gray moths can be found in the northern peninsula and panhandle of Florida. The range is mainly throughout the southeastern United States, west into Texas to Nebraska and north into Ontario and Quebec.
Adult moths have gray wings that sometimes have a greenish tint and a wingspan of 2.5-3cm (1 to 1-3/16 in.). This moth is named for the double am (antemedial - closest to the base of the wing) line on the forewings. The larva are long, narrow and smooth, green to brown with faint striped markings.
In much of its range oaks (Quecus genus) are the larval host plants. In the more northern areas Cleora sublunaria also utilizes sweetfern (Comptonia peregrina).

Cleora sublunaria is a member of the Geometridae - Geometrid Moths family.
