The wood warblers that were earlier classified as being of the genus Dendroica have been found to be more closely related to American Redstarts, previously the sole species in the genus Setophaga. Since the genus Setophaga was published earlier than Dendroica, the first name takes precedence.

Species of the Setophaga genus in the Wild Florida Photo database:

  Setophaga coronata
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Setophaga coronata

  Setophaga discolor
Prairie Warbler
Setophaga discolor

  Setophaga palmarum

The genus Setophaga is a member of the Parulidae - Wood-warblers family.
