This is not the fly of the antlion - family Myrmeleontidae - larvae that live at the bottom of a conical pit in sandy or dusty areas. This antlion fly is a bee fly - family Bombyliidae that is a parasite of the antlions.

Dipalta serpentina is a member of the Bombyliidae - Bee Flies family.
