Discovery Flown to DC

On April 17, 2012 the space shuttle Discovery took to the air for the last time on top of a NASA 747 ferry aircraft. The flight destination was Washington DC's Dulles Airport, for a final home at the Smithsonian Institution. These photos were as the ferry aircraft with Discovery passed over the northern portion of Volusia County in Florida.
Photos of the space shuttle Atlantis being ferried back to the Kennedy Space Center after mission STS-125 can be seen here.
