a. arrowhead shaped, but with the basal lobes turned outward as oppsed to downward
n. in palmate and costapalmate leaves, the junction of the leaf and petiole
a. pubescent with corse, stiff hairs
a. soil or habitat that has flooding, ponding or saturation of water for a long enough period of the growing season for the upper levels of soil to become anaerobic (lacking oxygen)
n. a cup shaped, or enlarged tubular structure surrounding the ovary, formed either by the marginal expansion of the receptacle or the fusion of the lower parts of the calyx, corolla and androecium; when the corrolla and androecium appear to arise from the calyx tube, that part of the apparent calyx tube below the attachment of the petals is the hypanthium
